This Privacy Policy explains how PromptBase collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the PromptBase website, Chrome extension, Prompt Lab, account pages, and billing flows. PromptBase is built to improve prompts only when you choose to use its features.

Information we collect

Account information: Google sign-in account identifier, name, email address, and profile image when you sign in.
Prompt information you submit: prompt text, selected context snippets, prompt guidance settings, and related text you intentionally send by clicking Improve, Process, Refine, or another PromptBase action.
History and settings: saved improved prompts, timestamps, platform labels, scores when enabled, extension preferences, prompt quality settings, context snippets, and local history choices.
Billing information: plan status, trial dates, subscription identifiers, and payment status returned by the payment provider. PromptBase does not store full card or wallet credentials.
Technical information needed for service operation: request metadata required to authenticate requests, prevent abuse, deliver Firebase-backed features, and diagnose failures.

How we use information

Authenticate your account and connect the website and extension.
Improve prompts, apply the context or quality settings you selected, and return the rewritten prompt.
Sync opted-in prompt history and account status across PromptBase surfaces.
Operate trials, subscriptions, billing status, support, security, and abuse prevention.
Maintain and improve reliability without selling prompt content or using it for advertising profiles.

Chrome extension behavior

The extension attaches an Improve control to prompt text boxes on supported AI websites and on other sites where you choose to use the injector feature. It reads the text from the prompt box that you actively improve so it can send that prompt to the PromptBase backend and place the improved result back into the workflow you chose. It is not designed to collect unrelated page content, browsing history, passwords, payment fields, or private page data that you do not submit to PromptBase.

Sharing and service providers

PromptBase shares information only as needed to run the service, such as with authentication, hosting, cloud backend, payment, and AI processing providers that support the requested feature. PromptBase does not sell personal information, prompt content, or browsing data.

Storage, security, and retention

Extension settings and selected local data are stored with Chrome storage. Account, history, trial, and subscription status are stored in the PromptBase Firebase backend. Prompt text sent for improvement is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections. We retain account and saved history data while needed to provide the service or until it is deleted or no longer required for legal, security, billing, or abuse-prevention reasons.

Your choices

You can avoid sending a prompt by not clicking a PromptBase improvement action.
You can change extension settings, disable context snippets, and control whether supported prompt history features are used.

These Terms govern your use of the PromptBase website, Chrome extension, Prompt Lab, account pages, and related services. By using PromptBase, you agree to use it lawfully and in line with these Terms and the rules of websites and AI services you open through PromptBase.

Service purpose

PromptBase helps users draft, improve, store, copy, and manage prompts. PromptBase may provide prompt rewrites, context-based improvements, history views, and shortcuts into third-party AI tools. PromptBase does not control the responses, policies, availability, or safety behavior of those third-party tools.

Your responsibilities

Review prompts and AI outputs before relying on them.
Do not submit unlawful, infringing, harmful, deceptive, abusive, or unauthorized content.
Do not attempt to bypass plan controls, authentication, usage controls, billing checks, extension safeguards, or service security.
Use PromptBase only with accounts, prompt boxes, websites, and data you are permitted to access.

Accounts and plans

Google sign-in may be required for prompt improvement, history sync, account status, and paid features.
Eligible new users may receive a limited Pro trial shown in the account and billing pages.
PromptBase Pro is a recurring plan shown at checkout. Subscription status is managed through the connected payment provider and reflected in PromptBase after provider confirmation.
We may limit or suspend access for abuse, fraud, security risk, nonpayment, or violation of these Terms.

Privacy and extension permissions

The Privacy Policy explains data handling. The Permissions page explains the Chrome permissions and site access used by the extension. Permission requests are intended to support visible PromptBase features such as storage, sign-in handoff, prompt-box controls, side panel access, and user-triggered injection.

Availability and changes

Browsers, AI sites, and third-party services change. PromptBase features may be updated, paused, or adjusted to maintain security, policy compliance, compatibility, or product quality.

Disclaimers and limitation

PromptBase is provided on an as-available basis. Prompt suggestions and third-party AI outputs are working materials, not professional advice or guaranteed results. To the extent permitted by applicable law, PromptBase is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the service.

This page explains the Chrome permissions and site access requested by PromptBase, what each permission powers, and what it does not do. PromptBase requests permissions for visible extension features: prompt-box Improve controls, prompt settings, sign-in, a side panel, shortcuts, and user-triggered injection.

storageStores extension settings, enabled context snippets, prompt quality preferences, authentication state needed by the extension, and local history choices. It does not grant access to files on your computer.

identityOpens the secure Chrome sign-in handoff used to connect your Google-authenticated PromptBase account to the extension. It is used for authentication flow, not to inspect your general Google activity.

activeTabLets PromptBase act on the current tab after you deliberately use a PromptBase action, such as adding the Improve button to the page you are viewing.

scriptingInjects PromptBase code on the active page when needed for the user-triggered Add Improve Button feature and prompt-box integration behavior.

sidePanelOpens the PromptBase side panel so you can work with prompt tools without leaving the page.

contextMenus and commandsAdd prompt actions and keyboard shortcuts that you can invoke directly from Chrome.

PromptBase backend site accessAllows secure requests to PromptBase hosting and Firebase-backed API endpoints for sign-in status, prompt improvement, history sync, account status, and billing-related account state.

AI-site and broad site accessAllows the floating Improve button to find prompt text boxes on supported AI workspaces and on other sites where you use the extension’s universal prompt-box workflow. PromptBase uses this access to attach its prompt control and process the prompt you choose to improve, not to collect unrelated page content or browsing history.

How prompt access works

The Improve button appears near detected prompt boxes or when you use the manual Add Improve Button action.
PromptBase sends prompt text only when you initiate an improvement or related PromptBase action.
The improved prompt is shown back to you for use, copy, acceptance, or continued editing.
PromptBase excludes its own website from content-script injection.

Why these disclosures matter

The Chrome Web Store developer listing should describe these permissions consistently with this page and the Privacy Policy. If a requested permission changes in a future release, this page and the privacy disclosures should be updated with it.
